Arthur Lien

Arthur Lien

Arthur and I got to catch up this weekend about the body of work he’s been creating for Wood Dragon. He explores the Asian diaspora in multiple mediums and creates from a place of respect and understanding. Invisible connections, small fortunes, and reconnecting to our roots are the beginnings of themes explored through a repetitive approach that is reminiscent of a meditative state of being.

His passion for music has led him to exploring funk, soul, and house music. He shared about the Saigon Soul Revival and their work in celebrating the creativity that came about when Vietnamese musicians were tasked to play for American GI’s in wartime. We listened to Abao and the preservation of the Paiwanese language through house music (Paiwan people are the indigenous people of Taiwan). Immediately after I left to return home I called up @peacelilypress_microfarm to get the go ahead to bring this special set to our closing day on Feb 24th.

He is sharing so much with us at this event and I hope you’re able to receive from our fellow truth seeker.
